Flights of Fantasy

Some paintings take quite awhile to develop. Others site in one state for some time waiting to find their final state. This one is both. It looked very different for a year - and I didn't like what it looked like and was frustrated with the direction it was going. Then, I brought it to my easel and flipped it upside down with the intention of painting over the whole thing and starting over- and started heavily editing again. Strong emotions started pouring out. This surprising result arose. Much like a phoenix it brings to my mind a phoenix, rising from the ashes.
